Build Chicago
(Broader Urban Involvement & Leadership Development) is one of Chicago’s leading gang intervention, violence prevention, and youth development organizations. BUILD’s mission is to engage at-risk youth in schools and on the streets to help them realize their potential and contribute to our communities. BUILD focus on hard-to-serve youth in some of Chicago’s most challenging neighborhoods.
The $30,000 grant will be used to fund the summer “Hoops in the Hood” initiative which brings weekly community-centered basketball to neighborhoods that have experienced gang violence and create a safe space for youth and adults to build positive relationships and foster a sense of community.

The Center for Conflict Resolution
The Center for Conflict Resolution is a community mediation center with a mission to work with individuals, communities, courts and other institutions to manage and resolve conflict. CCR accomplishes this mission by providing free mediation, facilitation and conflict management services throughout the Chicagoland area, as well as offering mediation, conflict management and communication skills training.

About The Pat Tillman Foundation:
The Pat Tillman Foundation helps veterans and military spouses reach their fullest potential as leaders – no matter how they chose to serve.
In 2002, inspired by the Sept 11 attacks, Pat Tillman turned down a $3m NFL contract from the Arizona Cardinals to serve in the US Army. Family and friends established the Pat Tillman Foundation following Pat’s death in April 2004 while serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan. Since 2008, the Pat Tillman Foundation has provided academic scholarships, professional development opportunities and a national network to empower the Tillman Scholar community.
The $2,000PYP grant will be used toward college tuition and living expenses of local Cook County Pat Tillman Scholar recipients.
